El Presidente Paul introduced the 2012/2013 year of toastmastering with the theme of A Fresh Start. He gave a welcome to all our guests, including new Dutch friends Josine and Daniel who contributed to the topics session. Tonight’s Toastmaster Maria introduced the meeting and topics master Jeremy kicked off a very topical topics session with summer 2012, first day of school, Electric Picnic, Prince Harry, chat up lines and the Olympics all featuring with entertaining results.

Speeches covered Beijing stories of spiders on sticks, Hitchcock’s use of sound and tension, the power of dreams and the history of neckties – did you know 4.5 million are sold around each Father’s day?
